The Film Diary NYC curator-in-residence program honors outstanding contributions to experimental film programming and arts organizing in New York. We are excited to welcome the inaugural resident curator, Zeina Abedrabo for the 2025-2026 cycle. As curator-in-residence, Zeina will play an important role in advising the Film Diary team during the 2026 festival. Applications for the next curator in residence cycle are now closed. Please check back in Spring 2026.
Zeina Abedrabo is a New York–based curator and multidisciplinary artist with experience across screening venues, biennial programs, design fairs, and contemporary galleries between the Middle East and New York. She holds a BA in Art History from the University of Brighton (2018) and an MPS in Arts and Cultural Management from Pratt Institute (2023). Her work centers on curating alternative and experimental film, including sold-out screenings at Millennium Film Workshop, and her practice is further shaped by international residencies and workshops such as the Archaeology of Sound study group at Alserkal Arts Foundation in Dubai (2022) and Aesthetic Transformation Processes at Berlin University of the Arts (2022). Rooted in her transnational background, she is committed to artist-run spaces and interdisciplinary exchange, with projects that explore identity, representation, and the politics of media through film, sound, and photography. She currently serves as Curator at ArteEast and Administrative Director at Millennium Film Workshop.
